Participation in Myingyan Steel Mill
No.(1) Heavy Industrial Enterprise,

    The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar through the Ministry of Planning , Finance  and Industry, is seeking expressions of interest from private sector entities interested in participating in the recommissioning and operation of the Myingyan Steel Mill.  The Myingyan Steel Mill is located near Sar Khar village, Myingyan Township in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar.  The mill is approximately 3.3 miles west of milepost 450/0 on the Yangon Myingyan Highway.  The production capacity is estimated to be approximately 1,883,000 tonnes per year.
    The Government is willing to consider a range of proposals for different types of public private partnerships including the possibility of limited disposal of certain designated product lines currently located at the Myingyan Steel Mill.
     The details of the current plant and assets will be set out in a Request for Proposals which will be available to bidders who express an interest in putting forward a proposal and have experience in respect of the commissioning or operation of a steel mill.  
     The interested parties may send a letter expressing interest on company letterhead and duly signed by an authorized signatory with company seal.  The letter should be titled “Expression of Interest: Myingyan Steel Mill – Tender Process 001/2020” and be addressed to:
